Simon is known for his joyful Pop Art style and the colourful pieces that play on his Kiwi-as childhood, jet-plane lollies and the power poles he would spot from the car window on road trips for instance.

The Mr and Mrs Ward candlesticks he has created with Janice and Julian may be more grown up, but they retain that same ebullience. “I wanted a candlestick with a clean aesthetic that would hold a basic white ‘National’ candle you can buy at the supermarket,” explains Janice, “something that would celebrate the pure form of glass.”
